A Warm Evening of Gratitude: BAAC’s Kitchen Crew Appreciation Night

BAAC celebrated our amazing Durga Puja kitchen crew and their families with a special appreciation dinner on December 20.

On December 20, the Bengali Association of Atlantic Canada (BAAC) hosted a heartfelt appreciation event to honour the incredible members of our kitchen crew and their families—the dedicated volunteers who cooked tirelessly for the attendees of this year’s Durga Puja (Dashabhuja Durgotsab) organized by BAAC.

Despite a chilly December night, the gathering was filled with warmth, laughter, and gratitude. Close to 50 members of our community came together for a joyful and relaxing evening, reconnecting with friends and fellow community members in an atmosphere of celebration and appreciation.

The evening featured snacks, fun games, and a sumptuous dinner, lovingly prepared for the kitchen crew by BAAC’s executive team—a small but sincere gesture to say thank you to those who usually work behind the scenes to make our major events successful.

Our Durga Puja celebrations this year were widely praised, with attendees repeatedly commending the exceptional quality, authenticity, and tastiness of the food. None of that would have been possible without the tireless efforts, long hours, and deep commitment of our kitchen volunteers, who worked selflessly to serve the community.

This appreciation night was BAAC’s way of recognizing that dedication and ensuring our volunteers felt just as celebrated as the festival itself. The smiles, conversations, and shared moments throughout the evening truly reflected the spirit of togetherness that defines our community.

We extend a big, heartfelt thank you to every member of our kitchen crew and their families. Your hard work helped make Dashabhuja Durgotsab 2025 a grand success, and your contribution continues to strengthen the bonds within our Bengali community in Atlantic Canada.

Some glimpses from the evening are shared below—capturing moments of joy, connection, and well-deserved celebration.

🙏 With gratitude,
BAAC Executive Team
