The Bengali Association of Atlantic Canada (BAAC) wrapped up the holiday season in true celebratory style with the Glitzy Holiday Gala on December 27th — an afternoon that brought together families, friends, and the community for an unforgettable experience of fun, food, and festivities.
🎯 Games, Laughter & Inner Kids Unleashed
From the moment guests arrived, the energy was contagious! Carefully envisioned and led by Sushmita Chatterjee, the games and activities were a hit with both kids and adults. It was heart-warming to see grown-ups rediscover their inner child as they enthusiastically joined in, laughing, competing, and cheering along.
🎅 The Star Attraction — Santa’s Grand Entrance
The highlight of the afternoon was undoubtedly the grand entrance of Santa Claus 🎁. Santa delighted the children by handing out individualized gifts to each child and happily posed for photos with families, creating magical moments and priceless memories.

Guests were treated to a delicious spread of snacks that kept everyone happily munching:

The snacks were followed by a lavish Indo-Chinese lunch that left guests thoroughly satisfied:

- 🍚 Fried Rice
- 🍜 Kolkata-style Chowmein
- 🥭 Mango Mousse — lovingly prepared by Bithika Ray
To end the meal on a delightful note, guests were also handed a fortune cookie 🥠 — adding a touch of surprise and fun.
🎂 Celebrating BAAC Turns ONE!
A special moment during the event was the cake-cutting ceremony 🎉 as BAAC celebrated its first anniversary. The milestone was marked with applause, smiles, and shared pride in how far the community has come together.
🌟 Introducing BAAC Club
Adding to the excitement, BAAC proudly announced its new membership program — BAAC Club. The announcement was met with enthusiastic applause, reflecting the community’s eagerness to stay connected and engaged through future initiatives.
🎬 Reel-Making Fun!
Adding a creative twist to the celebrations, Soumita Bosu Roy Choudhuri and Shrabanti Das planned and facilitated the creation of two fun reels 📱 — one by the gents and one by the ladies. These reels were brought to life through the enthusiastic participation of attendees and captured the vibrant, playful spirit of the event beautifully.
💃 Dance, Music & Pure Energy
Post-lunch, the dance floor came alive! Guests enjoyed:
- 🕺 Ballroom dance lessons by Debapriya Chatterjee
- 🔥 Bhangra lessons by Kaustav Roy
Armed with new dance moves, participants enthusiastically showcased their skills to music DJed by Kaustav Roy, turning the hall into a lively celebration.
🍪 Kids’ Cookie Decoration Corner
While adults danced, the kids enjoyed a creative cookie-decoration activity 🍪. The delicious cookies were prepared by Sandhita Saha Ray, and the children had a blast decorating and tasting their edible masterpieces.
🎤 Seamless Hosting & Big Thanks
The entire event was smoothly and energetically emceed by Ishita Chowdhary and Kaustav Banerjee, whose naturally upbeat style kept the audience engaged throughout the afternoon.
