The Bengali Association of Atlantic Canada (BAAC) proudly celebrates the incredible culinary journey of Avijit Mondal, our beloved Chief Chef and a true pillar behind the success of our events.

Avijit has been an integral part of every BAAC gathering, consistently delighting our community with his passion, dedication, and exceptional cooking. From grand festive spreads to comforting traditional meals, his dishes bring people together and create unforgettable experiences.

During the Durgotsav 2025, attendees couldn’t stop praising the rich flavors and authenticity of the food. His signature dishes-especially the perfectly spiced mutton curry, soulful khichudi, and traditional labra, were crowd favorites, often described as “home on a plate.” The aroma, taste and presentation truly elevated the festive spirit.

At the Saraswati Puja, Avijit once again worked his magic. His thoughtfully curated menu and flawless execution ensured that every devotee enjoyed a wholesome and memorable prasad experience. The love and care infused in every dish reflected not just his skill, but his heart.

Avijit’s culinary creations are more than just food, they are a celebration of culture, tradition and community. His commitment, consistency and creativity have made him an indispensable part of BAAC’s journey.

The Bengali Association of Atlantic Canada (BAAC) is deeply proud to spotlight Sujit, one of our beloved Chief Chefs, whose dedication, passion, and culinary artistry have added warmth, joy, and a true sense of home to our cultural celebrations.

For our community, food is more than just a meal – it is emotion, memory, tradition, and togetherness. Sujit brings all of that to life through every dish he prepares. With his care, commitment, and wonderful balance of flavors, he creates food that not only delights the taste buds but also touches the heart.

From the festive spirit of Durgotsav 2025 to the graceful and soulful celebration of Saraswati Puja, Sujit’s contribution has been truly special. His cooking has brought people together, reminded us of home, and made every gathering feel even more meaningful and memorable.

Some of his standout creations include rich and flavorful mutton, aromatic biryani, delicious pulao, comforting niramish shahi paneer, and the ever-loved kheer/payas, which brings a sweet and heartfelt ending to every meal. Each dish reflects his love for traditional Bengali cuisine and his sincere effort to give everyone a memorable experience.

Beyond his culinary talent, Sujit also leads the cooking team with patience, kindness, and great coordination. His calm guidance behind the scenes, his ability to bring the team together, and his commitment to maintaining quality while serving large gatherings make him an invaluable part of the BAAC family.

The Bengali Association of Atlantic Canada proudly celebrates our Lead Chefs – Baitali, Deepa, Jhulan, Pratima, Poulomi, Rimi, Sonam, and Sumita, the dedicated team that forms the backbone of our kitchen operations.

Working closely with our Chief Chefs, they ensure smooth coordination, consistent preparation, and heartfelt execution across all BAAC events. Their teamwork and attention to detail help transform large-scale cooking into seamless culinary experiences.
