🎶 BAAC Rhapsody Captivates Audiences at Nova MultiFest 2026 🎭
Celebrating Krishna through music, dance, and the vibrant spirit of multicultural Nova Scotia.
The Bengali Association of Atlantic Canada (BAAC) was honoured to participate in Nova MultiFest 2026, one of Nova Scotia’s premier multicultural festivals celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that make our province so vibrant and welcoming.
Organized by The Nova MultiFest Society, the festival is dedicated to promoting and preserving art and culture through innovative initiatives, multicultural festivals, community celebrations, and events that foster intercultural relationships while celebrating traditions from around the world. BAAC is grateful for the opportunity to be part of this remarkable celebration and to share a glimpse of Bengali culture and heritage with audiences from across the province.
🌸 A Tribute to Krishna Through Music & Dance
This year’s BAAC presentation centred around the timeless stories and spirit of Lord Krishna, bringing together music, dance, storytelling, and devotion in a captivating cultural showcase.
🎵 Abhyuday – Our Young Voices
The performance opened with a soulful choral presentation by Abhyuday, BAAC’s children’s choir. Under the dedicated direction and guidance of Ishita Chowdhary, our young performers beautifully brought Krishna-themed songs to life with confidence, harmony, and infectious enthusiasm. Their performance reflected not only musical excellence but also BAAC’s commitment to nurturing the next generation’s appreciation for our language, culture, and traditions.
💃 Dance, Drama & Devotion
The audience was then treated to a mesmerizing dance drama presented by the students of Debapriya Chatterjee. Under her artistic direction and guidance, the performers beautifully portrayed the grace, joy, and divine playfulness of Krishna through expressive choreography, vibrant costumes, and heartfelt storytelling. The performance was warmly received and showcased the richness of Indian dance traditions.
🤝 Celebrating Diversity, Building Community
Nova MultiFest exemplifies the power of culture to bring people together. It provides communities with an opportunity to celebrate their heritage while learning from one another, strengthening friendships, and embracing the diversity that enriches Nova Scotia.
BAAC is proud to contribute to this vision by promoting Bengali language, arts, music, and culture while actively engaging with the wider multicultural community. Participating in festivals like Nova MultiFest allows us to build meaningful connections and share the traditions that unite generations and communities.
🙏 Our Sincere Thanks
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to The Nova MultiFest Society, its organizing committee, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this incredible festival possible. Thank you for providing a welcoming platform where communities can proudly celebrate their cultures and connect through the universal languages of music, dance, and art.
It was a privilege for BAAC to participate in this wonderful celebration, and we look forward to continuing to contribute to Nova Scotia’s vibrant multicultural landscape in the years ahead.
