BAAC Annual Picnic 2026 – A Day of Food, Fun & Togetherness!
A beautiful summer gathering at Sir Sandford Fleming “Dingle” Park filled with laughter, games, delicious food, and wonderful community memories.
The Bengali Association of Atlantic Canada (BAAC) came together for our much-awaited Annual Picnic 2026 at the beautiful Sir Sandford Fleming (Dingle) Park in Halifax. It was a day that perfectly captured what BAAC is all about — community, friendship, family, fun, and plenty of good food!
Although there was a heat wave warning in effect, everyone showed up with enthusiasm, and the day actually began on a very pleasant note. The weather Gods seemed to be on our side too — most of the day remained cloudy and breezy, making the outdoor activities comfortable and enjoyable. And almost as if on cue, the skies finally opened up just after we had wrapped up the picnic!
🌳 A Perfect Picnic Setting
Dingle Park turned out to be a wonderful setting for the day. With plenty of shady trees, open green spaces, and a beautiful seaside location, it gave everyone the perfect mix of room to relax, gather, play, and simply enjoy being outdoors together.

Welcome & Breakfast
A relaxed start to the day with greetings, catching up, and a hearty breakfast.
🎯 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Games & Activities
Two energetic hours of fun, laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of participation.
🍛 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Lunch
A delicious lunch spread that brought everyone back together around the tables.

Tea & Refreshment
A well-earned tea break with warm refreshments and evening snacks.

Wrap-Up & Closing
A warm close to a wonderful day, with smiles, appreciation, and many memories to take home.
🎉 Games, Laughter & Special Moments!
The games and activities were a huge hit throughout the day. Both grown-ups and kids jumped in wholeheartedly, bringing plenty of energy, friendly competition, laughter, and community spirit to the picnic.
One of the absolute highlights was the Baby–Daddy Freeze Dance, which delivered what can only be described as a complete cuteness overload! The little ones, together with their dads, had everyone smiling, cheering, and reaching for their phones to capture the moment.
🎁 The fun continued right through to the end with a special raffle draw, where one lucky attendee went home with a thoughtfully prepared gift hamper — a lovely way to add one more surprise to an already memorable day!
♻️ There was also a small but meaningful sustainability initiative. Everyone was encouraged to hold on to their disposable water cups throughout the picnic rather than using a new cup each time. Those who still had their cups at the end of the day were entered into a special draw, with one participant winning a $10 gift card!
From energetic games and adorable family moments to prizes and a simple initiative encouraging everyone to reduce waste, the activities helped make the picnic fun, engaging, and memorable from beginning to end.

The food was very much part of the experience, with a playful Bollywood-inspired menu adding an extra dose of fun to the day.
