🇮🇳 Celebrating India’s 80th Independence Day

Today, the Bengali Association of Atlantic Canada (BAAC) proudly joins Indians around the world in celebrating India’s 80th Independence Day.

On August 15, 1947, India gained its freedom after generations of courage, determination, and sacrifice. As we celebrate this special day from our home in Atlantic Canada, we honour those who made that freedom possible and celebrate the values of unity, diversity, democracy, and hope that continue to inspire generations.

For our community abroad, Independence Day is also an opportunity to stay connected to our roots and share the history, culture, and spirit of India with the next generation.

🎶 A Patriotic Tribute from Our Community

As part of our 80th Independence Day celebration, members of the BAAC community came together to present “Dhono Dhanno Pushpe Bhora” (ধনধান্য পুষ্প ভরা) — the beloved Bengali patriotic song written by Dwijendralal Roy.

Celebrating the beauty and richness of our motherland, this timeless song is a fitting musical tribute to the spirit of freedom, patriotism and unity on this special occasion. 🇮🇳

We are delighted to share this heartfelt performance by members of our community:

From all of us at the Bengali Association of Atlantic Canada, we wish our community, friends, and Indians around the world a very Happy 80th Independence Day! 🇮🇳

Jai Hind! 🇮🇳
